My Dear Professional Colleagues and Students,
It is a matter of pride and honour for me to carry forward the baton of our esteemed branch. Chairmanship of this branch gives some sort of empowerment to me. Empowerment invariably comes with responsibility and such responsibility always demands performance and delivery. Hence, I am duty bound to perform.
The Alappuzha Branch of SIRC of ICAI is one of the most vibrant branches in the country which is always working towards serving the members and students of this area. Our branch is a gifted branch. We have all required facilities and amenities to run this branch in an efficient way. I thank all my predecessors, who dedicated their life and time for making this branch as we seen today.
My dear members, If I am saying our profession is in crossroad, it won’t be an exaggeration. We all do acknowledge that we are completely uncertain about what’s next in store for us. Advancement in technology in the field of accounting, auditing and tax consultancy specifically set the stage for more revolution in our profession. We all need to update and adapt ourselves to cop up with the demands of the future and make sure that we all will remain relevant in the next decade as well. Only solution to this issue in my view is to learn, learn and again learn.
In the next 12 months’ time, our committee will focus on this particular need of the hour. We will arrange continuous education programme, both physical as well as virtual, for our members. Eminent faculties from various parts of India will share their knowledge on all relevant topics with us and thereby ensure that all of us are ready to face changes and consequent challenges. SICASA will play an instrumental role in our efforts to reach out to our students. We will conduct regular study circle meetings and organise seminars for students. We will conduct career orientation programmes for the 10th and 12th standard students belongs to selected schools in Alappuzha. We will encourage students to take up social responsibility programmes along with our members.
I believe, through these measures we could position our branch as a knowledge hub among all stakeholders and we could attract best talent to CA course. I urge upon the members to come forward with suggestions by which we can build up the image of our beloved profession and together we can keep the flag of our Institute flying high.
I once again thank all the membership my beloved branch for reposing faith and I hope that I will be able to live up to your expectations.
Jai hind……Jai ICAI
Thank you ,
CA Martin Joseph
